Designer's Own Kitchen

This kitchen will take home honors in a National Kitchen Design and Renovation contest if it was registered. It was remodelled with a design for professional chefs and at-home connossieurs who love to cook. Like the designer.

The stainless steel tile backsplash with a mosaic pattern helps to visually broaden the room, while integrated appliances contribute to the open feeling.

Although flooring by nature exists to be stepped upon, floors can and should do more than be durable. Whether wood, laminate, tile or stone is your material of choice, the kitchen floor adds color and character to the room. It also unites the kitchen with, or distinguishes it from adjoining areas. As one of the largest visible surfaces, flooring has a huge impact on a kitchen's design. For this kitchen, the designer choose ceramic tile with a faux wood plank design. The floor is in it's best look as well as its easy maintenance and easy to clean.

In addition, the faux wood plank design contrasts the white raised panel cabinetry with stainless handles. With the help of added lighting fixture under the cabinets, it raised an effect of a floating imagery with the designer's emphasis on the wood flooring's dramatic effect.

The use of copper, antique bronze, and granite, as well as the stainless mosaic tile backsplash that alludes to the weave in a basket, create a medley of texture, sheen and color that gives visual punch to this space, the Designer's Kitchen.
